All across America, thousands of churches are closing. It's common to see real estate signs in front of church buildings, declaring the property for sale. These churches were once strong, thriving congregations, but now small handfuls of aging members can no longer maintain the property and keep the church doors open. Why is this? Could it be that the leaders of these congregations are lacking vision? In Proverbs 29:18 (KJV), we read, "Where there is no vision, the people perish." Churches need to plan, or they can perish.
Our leaders have been doing just that-planning. The elders and executive leadership team began the process of developing our next three-year strategic plan. Hours have been spent in prayerful and thoughtful discussion as to the future direction of The Creek. After much work, we have identified three specific initiatives that are both urgent and compelling. These three initiatives we will be introducing, is the heart of our three-year strategic plan-a plan that we call
Engage.
