Complexity. It’s all around us. For example, can anything be more complicated than the federal government? Just how simple is the IRS tax code, or filings with the Social Security Administration? Relationships are often complex. Trying to survive the recession is complex. Even church can be complex.

Complex church is full activity. People are busy coming to church, participating in small group, attending Bible study, serving in some capacity—and more. Programs abound in a complex church—and people often jump on board of such programs. We begin to major in the minors and life soon becomes complex.
