Share – it’s something our mothers taught us to do, and ‘tis the season for sharing. People are generous with others at this time of year—even when we’re in a recession. It feels good to give—to share out of the extra that we have. Still, something we need to share has nothing to do with money, food, clothing or even time. What we need to share is our story.

“Go, tell it on the mountain” are familiar words to an old Christmas carol. The song declares the birth of Jesus and that we’re to go and shout that news from mountain-tops. There aren’t many peaks in Indianapolis, but there are plenty of people who can ‘go and tell’ someone about Jesus.

Do we have neighbors who are happy doing life without God? Do we have relatives or friends who think our involvement with church is a waste of time? Do we know co-workers or fellow students who mock our Christian faith? What would it take for us to actually ‘go and tell’ them about Jesus?

‘Tis the season for sharing, not only our stuff, but our story of how Jesus has changed our lives.
Let’s do what we’ve been taught and...share.
