Freedom- Week 3

Dan Hamel - Jan 20, 2019

OPEN

What is the funniest story of generosity that you have personally been able to participate in? Share that story with your group.

REFLECT

What did you learn from this sermon? How did this sermon deepen or challenge your faith?

Read 2 Corinthians 8:1-4, 9; 9:6-13. Which word, phrase, or verse in these passages resonates with you the most and why

Dan shared these five truths about generosity:

1. Generosity is a privilege.

2. Generosity makes us more like Jesus.

3. Generosity invites God’s blessing.

4. Generosity is the reason for God’s blessing.

5. Generosity leads to people praising God.

Which of these most stood out to you and why?

When an opportunity to give comes up, is your natural response to view the opportunity a burden or a blessing? What does the answer reveal about the condition of your heart?

How have you seen giving directly tied to your spiritual growth and your maturity as a disciple of Jesus?

When you consider all the resources you have, do you truly believe the reason God entrusted you with those resources was so you could be a blessing to others? Where are you at on this journey?

How have you seen generosity lead to other people praising God?

When you consider the generosity of Jesus, how does it make you feel? Explain.

Here are some next steps to help you explore what it looks like to leave behind a worthwhile legacy:
